Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you visit this website or play Abby’s Chronicles (the “Game”). Abby’s Chronicles is a hidden-object mystery game developed by SimRoy Studios (“we”, “us”, “our”). We are based in Quebec, Canada, and we handle personal information in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25).

The short version: The Game does not ask you to create an account, and it does not collect your name, your location, your contacts, or your photos. It does not show ads and does not sell your data. We use Unity’s gaming services to sign you in anonymously, save your progress, and collect basic technical and gameplay information that helps us fix bugs and improve the Game.

1. Information We Collect

Information collected automatically when you play

  • Anonymous player identifier. When you launch the Game, you are signed in anonymously through Unity Authentication. This creates a random identifier so the Game can save your progress. It is not linked to your name, email, or any real-world identity.
  • Game progress and settings. Your scores, levels, city-building progress, resources, and preferences (such as language) are saved on your device. If cloud save is enabled, a copy is stored on Unity’s servers so your progress can follow you across devices.
  • Device and technical information. Device model, operating system version, language, approximate region, and similar technical details.
  • Diagnostics and gameplay analytics. Crash reports, performance data (such as load times), and in-game events (such as sessions played, levels reached, and features used). This is collected through Unity’s gaming services and is used in aggregate to understand how the Game performs and where it can be improved.

Information you provide to us

  • Correspondence. If you email us or send feedback, we keep that message and your contact details so we can respond.

What we do not collect

  • Precise location data
  • Contacts or address book
  • Photos, camera, or microphone
  • Payment or financial information — the Game has no in-app purchases
  • Advertising identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID / GAID or Apple’s IDFA) — the Game shows no ads
  • Biometric data

2. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

  • Run the Game, sign you in, and save and restore your progress;
  • Diagnose crashes, measure performance, and fix bugs;
  • Understand how the Game is played so we can balance and improve it;
  • Respond to your questions, feedback, and privacy requests.

3. Legal Basis and Consent

We collect and use personal information on the basis of your consent, which you provide when you choose to play the Game. You may withdraw your consent at any time (see Your Rights below) by ceasing to use the Game and asking us to delete any data we hold about you.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising or marketing purposes. We rely on the following service providers, who process information on our behalf:

  • Unity Technologies — Unity Gaming Services (anonymous authentication, cloud save, analytics, and crash/diagnostics reporting) used inside the Game.
  • Google — Google Play distributes the Game on Android.
  • Apple — the App Store distributes the Game on iOS.
  • Microsoft (Azure) — hosts this website.

Each of these providers handles data under its own privacy terms. We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.

5. International Data Transfers

We are based in Quebec, Canada. Our service providers may store and process information on servers located outside Quebec and outside Canada, including in the United States and the European Union. Where information is transferred outside Quebec, we take reasonable steps to ensure it receives an adequate level of protection, including through the data-processing terms offered by our providers. By using the Game or this website, you acknowledge that your information may be processed in these locations.

6. Data Retention

  • Game progress and settings: kept while you use the Game and for a limited period afterward, then deleted or anonymized.
  • Diagnostics and analytics: retained only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, then deleted or anonymized.

7. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may:

  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you;
  • Request that we correct inaccurate information;
  • Request that we delete your personal information;
  • Withdraw your consent to our collection and use of your information.

To make a request, contact us at the address below. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may file a complaint with the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec (CAI).

8. Players of All Ages

The Game is intended for a general audience and can be enjoyed by players of all ages. It does not require an account, shows no advertising, and has no in-app purchases. The only information the Game handles is an anonymous identifier together with the technical and gameplay information described in this policy — none of which identifies a player by name. We do not knowingly collect personal contact information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and have a question about your child’s use of the Game, please contact us at the address below.

9. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls on our records, and reliance on established platforms (Unity, Google, Apple, Microsoft) for storage. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your information.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time as the Game evolves. We will revise the “Last updated” date above when we do, and we encourage you to review this page periodically.
